I had a wonderful dinner last night! I'm really excited to share my experience and highly recommend this place to everyone. The charcoal-grilled kebabs were delicious, and I also loved the mezes and the homemade pita bread. You absolutely have to try it!
We popped into Gem for a quick lunch mid week and had such a lovely experience. Besides the delicious food (we had a lamb dish and a veggie mezze), we were looked after by a very friendly and helpful front of house called Aslan. We took our newborn baby and he was so helpful at making us feel welcome and comfortable. Feels like a truly local, family run restaurant. Excellent fresh tasting food. Only wish we had discovered it sooner!

Been to Gem quite a few times over the years and they never failed to deliver excellent food and excellent service with decent prices. The latest visit just confirmed this. Great selection of generously sized dishes kept our group busy and happy on a budget! Highly recommend. Check it out online.
Had a great time, and the food was perfect. Been to many Turkish restaurants and this place is a GEM indeed. Will come back again.. I'll be back The meat has been cooked perfectly Chicken not dry and very tender Lamb cooked just right The adana is tasty Returned once again, this time I had the lamb shank which was soft and yummmmmy. Even the boss man remembers me.
The original Gem Restaurant on 265 Upper Street is such a great spot! The food was absolutely delicious, with so many tasty options to choose from. Delicious meats! Ambience/Location: 5/5 Located at the top of Upper Street, the restaurant is large yet quaint, and very pretty. Decorated with antique wooden wagons, the turquoise colors also makes it airy. Service: 5/5 I've been here many times, and the service is always very friendly and attentive. Food: 5/5 If I'm in Angel and looking for a mixed grill, this is the place to go. The portions are large and the food is fresh and delicious. All the meats are seasoned and Grilled to perfection, the hummus and halloumi are delicious and the salads are worth a try as well. Price: 5/5 The portions and quality are fantastic for the price. Go on the weekend for bottomless, or during the week for great lunch deals. Overall, a great place to go for any occasion or just for great food.
